Picking Highchair - IKEA ANTILOP

When choosing baby gear, the first thing we always put is Safety!

We starts looking for a high chair when baby is around 4 months of age as he will need one after start eating solid foods. The fisher price one always caught my attention and they look quite beautiful with colorful pattern. One of our relatives strongly recommend the one from IKEA, she said it is easy to clean and the price is unbeatable. After researching on the internet and knowing that high chair with wheels and folding mechanism are not necessary and there were a few recalls on Fisher price high chairs in the past, so we decided to go for IKEA's. With the attractive price at only $19.9 plus the tray around $5 dollars, you can't go wrong. So far, we love it. Simple and easy to clean.

Supplementary Notes (Nov, 2011): Baby is now 10+ months and we think that the IKEA highchair is not 'safe' enough. Baby can get out even the safety belt is on in 30 seconds. We are thinking to get another high chair.

My first fever- Week 26: Day 175 (Postscript)

Poor baby. Atticus has been strong and healthy so far. It's the first time he fall sick and we were so worried about him. He had persistent high fever for 6 days from Jun 2 to Jun 9. At first, we thought it was just a common teething fever so we thought he would get over it after a day or two. But the fever got higher in day 3. We kept seeing the pediatrician nearly every other day since he got sick as we understand that fever could do damage if not treated properly. Though, there was actually no medication prescribed. It would still be comforting to hear the doctor said '' He's okay and this is just common...etc...''

It was a terrible thing to see him suffer. The little one struggled in your arms but you can do nothing. He was not very sick by the appearance but he had totally lost his appetite. So, we followed the pediatrician's advice and sent him to Emergency room on day 6. There were a number of serious decease that could cause fever to an infant. He had to go through blood work and urine test and get examined in the hospital. Again, very scary experience for first time parent. I just can't help myself burst into tears when I saw him yelling. I prayed to God and hope that he could help the little good guy to get well soon. Thanks for God's grace, Atticus's fever has gone away while he stayed at the hospital. He recovered without taking any 'serious treatment' and become active and happy again. :P
