My first birthday party! I'm ONE!

Can't believe the little guy is turning ONE!! We threw a birthday for Atticus at home the 1st time. He was so thrilled and super happy to see all the guests coming.  (Mostly our 'adult' friends...as he doesn't has much 'kid-friends' for now.) The Thomas the train cake is from Sheng Kee and it's yummy. 

Thanks for all the great aunties and uncles who come and celebrate this great milestone with us!

Atticus's first trip to Hong Kong

We're flying with Atticus (almost 1 year old) back to Hong Kong for 2 weeks.  Flying with baby is not an easy task as you have to prepare lots of stuff and worried whether he could sleep and eat well at a different time zone.  Thanks God that Atticus behaved quite well, we even could see a movie on the way back. The trip was not bad and we managed to meet our beloved family and friends. However, two weeks are just too short.....Wish that we could stay longer when we come back to Hong Kong next time.

Flying with Baby tips: 

1. Choose a flight schedule that fits your baby usual nap/sleep schedule
2. Ensure you have good sleep before taking the flight (so you are fully charged and could cope with a cranky baby in case) 
3. Bring enough new toys to entertain your baby
4. Bring enough finger snacks and enough water (liquids)
5. Let your baby to suck on a bottle or breastfeeding him during take off or landing
6. Expose to natural sunlight is the best way to tune your jetlag 
7. Do not schedule activities on the first few days as it takes time for baby and you to adjust to the new time zone and weather

Atticus is a outgoing little guy. He loves meeting new friends and so far...didn't have any 'stranger anxiety'.

Breaking out

Atticus has figured out how to 'break out' from the playzone....Now nothing could stop him....

I wanna walk.

Atticus is so eager to walk and stand by his own. It's funny to watch him pushing the walker from here to there. We will soon be very busy catching him.

Can't live without -- Beco carrier

Have thought about buying a baby carrier for a long time. I guess it would be better to use baby carrier while we're travelling in Hong Kong. Our relative has lend one to us and that's the Baby Bjorn. It's easy to put on but not suitable for big baby....

Ergobaby vs. Beco

Shortlisted two brands. Both have good ratings and the price is very similar. I prefer the Beco as it is made in U.S.A and the design is more appealing to me.

There are two design from Beco. Butterfly II and Gemini. Finally I keep the Gemini instead of ButterfuyII for three reasons:

1) Simple to use

2) Straps are more easily adjusted

3) Can do front face-out carry position

We love our new stroller --- B-agile.

We have refunded the Maclaren Quest Sports stroller though we really love its light weight. The sun canopy is too inadequate and the storage space is too limited. So, dun dun dun dun...........our new stroller is the Britax, B-agile. It's a new model on the market since August and there're promotion on right now.

We love the super large canopy and the maneuverability is good. It is very well made but not that heavy compared to those bulky travel system. The storage is not in super size but there is a zipper pocket hanging which is nice enough for all the miscellaneous.

Strongly recommend to those who think large canopy is essential.

Best way to travel with baby

We talked with different parents and asked for their opinions on Stroller & Car seat. You would be amazed that many of them did spend quite a lot of time to research on this topic and it is indeed a 'compulsory subject' for all new parents! You gotta know what's the best out there because by law, you must have a car seat for the car ride: to take your baby home and the stroller is the thing that you need to use almost every time when you hang out with your baby.

我地兩個都研究左好耐，最終聽取一眾有經驗家長的意見, 買左Graco Snug ride Car seat 再借用了親友的Stroller Frame.......有經驗真係唔同....如果我地自己衝入babies R Us..可能就買左好bulky 既travel system! 用左超過半年之後，終於明白呢個組合既可愛之處。 The stroller frame is easy to fold and the huge size basket is fantastic, can nearly fit in everything. You can simply plug the car seat on it and click! You are ready to go. Most importantly, this is not expensive and it can go with all kinds of Graco Car seat.
